FAQ
Practical answers, kindly given.
How far in advance should we book?
For peak Saturday dates in late spring through early fall, six to twelve months is comfortable. Midweek and winter dates can often be booked with less notice. If your wedding is sooner, still inquire — we will be honest about what is possible.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit reserves your date and is outlined in your proposal. The remaining balance is due before the wedding, on a timeline we share in writing. [DEPOSIT PERCENTAGE AND TERMS]
Where do you deliver and set up?
We serve Toronto and the GTA, with travel to nearby venues across southern Ontario. Delivery, setup, and takedown of the chuppah structure are included in our core rental packages for venues within our standard radius. Venues farther out may include a travel fee, which we will flag in your quote.
How does setup and takedown work?
We arrive on a schedule coordinated with your venue and planner. The canopy is installed before guests enter, and we return after the ceremony — or later in the evening, if the chuppah stays as a photo moment — to take it down. You should not need to store poles in a hotel suite.
How long is the rental?
Standard rentals cover ceremony day: delivery, the ceremony itself, and pickup. If you would like the structure to remain through cocktail hour or portraits, tell us when you inquire. Multi-day events and welcome dinners can be quoted separately.
Can we customize the design?
Always. Collections are starting points, not limits. Fabric color, floral density, heirloom textiles, and the rest of your day’s styling can all shape the final look. Custom work is quoted individually.
What about outdoor weddings and weather?
We plan for wind, heat, and sudden rain with weighted bases, secure draping, and a backup conversation with your venue. Some florals and fabrics are more weather-hardy than others; we will recommend accordingly. If the ceremony moves indoors, we will too, as long as the indoor space can accept the structure.
What is your cancellation policy?
[CANCELLATION POLICY — replace with your real terms.] In general, deposits are non-refundable once a date is held, because we turn other couples away. Date changes are considered when the calendar allows. We will put the policy in your agreement so there are no surprises.
How do you work with partner florists?
Mazel & Co. coordinates the design. Arrangements are created by trusted partner florists who know our structures and timelines. You have one inquiry, one proposal, and one point of contact. If you already have a florist, we are happy to collaborate with them on the chuppah only.
Can you help with Jewish ceremony traditions?
Yes — with respect, not as a substitute for your rabbi or officiant. We can discuss the chuppah as a home and a covering, mounting a family tallit, leaving space for circling, and keeping the structure stable during the glass. We work with Jewish weddings of every denomination, and with couples who simply want a beautiful ceremony canopy.
