How to Choose a Chuppah Style
March 18, 2026
The chuppah is both architecture and symbol: a home you stand under for a few minutes that you will look at for the rest of your life. Choosing a style is less about picking a trend and more about answering a few honest questions.
Start with the room
A ballroom with crystal and a barn with beams ask for different silhouettes. Look at ceiling height, sightlines for grandparents, and whether the ceremony is indoors or on grass. A heavy floral crown can disappear in a garden and sing in a hotel. A spare wood frame can look lost in a grand lobby and perfect in a gallery.
If you can, send us a photo of the exact spot. We will tell you what the structure needs so it does not compete with the space — or vanish in it.
Decide what the chuppah should say
Some couples want the chuppah to read immediately as Jewish tradition: cloth overhead, four poles, a tallit that belonged to a grandfather. Others want a modern pavilion that still holds the meaning without announcing it. Both are welcome here.
If you are using a family textile, say so early. Mounting it well is a craft of its own.
Match the rest of the day
The ceremony is the first time guests see your design language. If dinner is candlelight and garden roses, a stark metal frame may feel like a different wedding. If the party is architectural and black-tie, a boho arch of pampas can feel like a leftover from someone else’s mood board.
You do not need a matching set of everything. You do need one through-line — color, texture, or attitude.
Think about photographs
Photographers often shoot the couple from the aisle, then from the side, then tight on hands and faces. Ask yourself: do you want flowers in those frames, or negative space? Do you want guests visible under the chuppah, or a more enclosed “room”?
Let budget shape density, not dignity
A well-built, well-draped structure with a few right stems is more elegant than an overloaded rental that looks uneasy. Our collections are starting points. Pricing moves with florals, extra draping, lighting, and travel — not with how meaningful the day is.
When you are ready, request a quote with your venue and a sentence about the feeling you want. We will take it from there.
